Job Description and Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) with 3–7 years of experience.
Must be licensed to practice in Texas.
Case Management
Manage assigned litigation matters from initial pleadings through discovery, hearings, and settlement or trial.
Maintain organized and up‑to‑date case files, ensuring compliance with all rules of civil procedure and docket control orders.
Track deadlines and prepare necessary filings in accordance with court requirements.
2. Legal Research & Writing
Conduct thorough legal research on complex issues in business, probate, real estate, contract, and tort matters.
Draft and revise pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
Prepare trial notebooks, deposition summaries, and exhibit lists.
3. Client Interaction
Serve as a primary or secondary point of contact for clients on assigned matters.
Provide timely case updates and explain legal strategy, procedural steps, and potential outcomes.
Assist in developing practical solutions aligned with client goals.
4. Courtroom Representation
Handle hearings, depositions, mediations, and settlement conferences both in person and via Zoom.
Conduct oral arguments and examine witnesses under supervision or with co‑counsel.
Support lead counsel in trial preparation and execution.
5. Collaboration & Teamwork
Foster effective and open communication with attorneys and paralegals to streamline case progression.
Assist senior attorneys with case strategy, research, and drafting.
Maintain a respectful and courteous demeanor toward colleagues and clients while contributing to a professional, quiet and clean work environment.
6. Professional Standards
Accurately track billable hours and enter time records promptly.
Uphold the firm’s values, ethics, and standards of professional conduct with clients, opposing counsel and court staff.
Remain current on developments in Texas civil procedure and relevant case law.

Owens Law Group PLLC, a mid‑size law firm in downtown Conroe, is seeking a competent, motivated Mid-Level Associate Attorney to join our team full time. We specialize in adversarial litigation and settlement negotiations in general business matters, probate and estate litigation, real estate disputes, landlord‑tenant issues, contract enforcement, debt collection, and tort litigation involving fraud, theft, negligence, and fiduciary breaches across Montgomery County and surrounding areas.
